PDP Will Not Die in Taraba – Party Chair

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State has urged its members to remain steadfast and loyal to the party despite recent internal challenges and defections.

In a press statement issued in Jalingo, the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Obidah Bitrus, dismissed concerns that the PDP was weakening, insisting that the party remains intact and resilient in the state.

Bitrus said the party was already building momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that structures were being strengthened across the state to ensure a strong electoral outing.

According to him, the PDP has embarked on a statewide tour to engage directly with members, resolve grievances and reinforce the party's presence at the grassroots level. He described the PDP as the only political platform in Taraba State that guarantees a level playing field for all members, adding that the party is steadily regaining its strength.

Commenting on the internal leadership crisis within the party, the chairman expressed optimism that the issues would soon be resolved, assuring members that mechanisms had been put in place to amicably settle all outstanding disputes.

Bitrus also called on party members, particularly newly eligible voters, to take advantage of the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration exercise.

He emphasized that the voter's card remains a powerful tool for enthroning credible leadership and urged citizens to ensure they are fully prepared to exercise their democratic rights when the time comes.
