Victor Falack Flags Off Campaign, Vows More Projects for Taraba Central
The Accord Party senatorial candidate for Taraba Central, Reverend Dr. Victor Falack Samuel, has officially flagged off his campaign in Serti, Gashaka Local Government Area, promising to prioritise development, accessible leadership and improved support for vulnerable residents if elected.
The campaign flag-off provided an opportunity for the party to formally present Falack Samuel to the electorate as its candidate for the Taraba Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, the Accord Party chairman in Taraba State, Hon. Hamman Mohammed, introduced the candidate to party members and supporters before presenting him with the party flag, bearing the Accord Party logo, in a symbolic gesture of the party’s endorsement.
Mohammed expressed confidence in Falack Samuel’s ability to represent the people effectively, urging supporters to rally behind his candidacy and trust his commitment to delivering on the responsibilities of the office.
Addressing the gathering, Falack Samuel identified the restoration of effective leadership in Taraba Central as his foremost priority, alleging that the district had suffered from a lack of visible leadership and development.
He expressed concern over what he described as the absence of tangible development projects across the district, arguing that the situation had raised questions about the quality of representation enjoyed by constituents.
The candidate pledged to work towards restoring the presence of government in communities across Taraba Central, with a focus on projects and interventions that directly address the needs of residents.
He also highlighted the challenges facing youths, widows and other vulnerable groups, noting that many residents lacked adequate support and assistance.
According to him, effective representation at the National Assembly should go beyond legislative debates to include identifying the needs of constituents, attracting development projects and ensuring that vulnerable members of society receive attention.
Falack Samuel cited the collapsed Namnai Bridge as an example of the infrastructure challenges confronting communities in the district. He questioned how elected representatives could fully understand the difficulties faced by residents of Namnai, Gashaka and Sardauna without maintaining regular contact with their constituents.
He promised to remain accessible to the people if elected, assuring them that he would use legislative breaks and public holidays to return to the state, interact with residents and obtain firsthand information about their challenges.
The candidate contrasted this approach with what he described as a lack of consistent engagement between some elected officials and the people they represent, insisting that his representation would be built on accessibility, accountability and regular consultations.
He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a close relationship with constituents, promising to make their concerns central to his activities at the National Assembly.
The campaign flag-off marks the beginning of the Accord Party candidate’s engagement with voters across Taraba Central as he seeks their support for the senatorial seat in the forthcoming elections.
