Marben Foundation Launches Large-Scale Education Support Program Across Kpambo

In a major boost to grassroots education, the Marben Foundation, led by its Executive Director, Dorcas Elisha, has rolled out an extensive educational outreach across Kpambo in Ussa Local Government Area, distributing free learning materials to pupils in all public schools and selected low-income private schools.

The foundation handed out school bags, exercise books, textbooks, school sandals, socks, and other essential materials—an intervention that has provided immediate relief to parents and ensured that pupils return to school well-equipped.

The initiative aligns with Governor Agbu Kefas' ongoing education reforms, which prioritize improving access to quality education in rural and underserved communities. Stakeholders say the Foundation's timely support has helped bridge gaps as the state government continues phased distribution of instructional materials across Taraba.

As part of the outreach, the Foundation also organized digital literacy training for SS3 students in Kpambo to help them master the JAMB CBT interface and better prepare for computer-based examinations.

Over the past year, the Marben Foundation has executed several high-impact educational interventions across Taraba State, including:

• Free JAMB and SSCE preparatory coaching for final-year students in public secondary schools in Jalingo.
• Construction of learning shelters in hard-to-reach rural communities.
• Teacher training workshops aimed at improving classroom delivery and learning outcomes.
• Establishment of a Free Digital Learning Centre in Jalingo, offering ICT and professional training for children, women, and youths.

Dorcas Elisha, who also brings significant international experience from educational development programs in the United States, has consulted widely across Central African countries, supporting schools, NGOs, and youth-focused institutions to strengthen literacy, digital learning, and teacher capacity-building systems. Stakeholders say this global exposure has enhanced the quality and impact of her interventions in Taraba.

Education leaders in Ussa LGA described the foundation's outreach as "a clear demonstration of patriotism, partnership, and alignment with Governor Kefas' education agenda." They urged the state government to explore a formal collaboration with the Marben Foundation to expand similar interventions across the state.

With the successful flag-off in Kpambo, the Marben Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Governor Kefas' transformational education vision and ensuring that children in rural communities are not left behind.
