Barr. Jerry Danzomo Emerges Chairman of Ndola Community in Abuja

The Ndola Cultural and Development Association, Abuja Chapter, has elected Barr. Jerry Danzomo as its new chairman following a keenly contested leadership poll held on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

In the election, Barr. Danzomo secured 22 votes to defeat his opponent, Mr. Ibrahim Elisha Lampo, who garnered 12 votes. The exercise was described as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the community's commitment to strengthening its cultural and developmental structures in the FCT.

In his maiden address, Barr. Danzomo expressed gratitude to Almighty God and appreciation to members of the Ndola community for entrusting him with what he described as a sacred responsibility. He noted that the day marked not just his election but a renewed collective resolve to unite, grow, and elevate the Ndola community. He emphasized that he would serve not as a ruler but as a servant of the people, their heritage, and their shared aspirations.

Barr. Danzomo said the confidence reposed in him represents a mandate to work with courage, wisdom, and integrity. He acknowledged the contributions of past leaders and pledged to build on the foundations of unity, cultural pride, and community advancement they established.

The new chairman outlined a vision centered on unity, cultural preservation, community development, empowerment, accountability, and transparency. He promised initiatives that include reviving cultural identity, promoting language preservation, supporting youth and vulnerable families, offering educational and mentorship programs, and strengthening the association's institutional framework through inclusiveness and fairness.

He further stated that the Abuja chapter will forge partnerships with government agencies, private organizations, and community-based institutions to provide more opportunities for Ndola people. According to him, the association must serve not merely as a social gathering space but as a development engine for all sons and daughters of the Ndola nation living in Abuja.

Barr. Danzomo called on all members to rise above divisions and work collectively, urging them to move from complaints to solutions and from expectations to contributions. He said the mandate was collective and required unity of purpose to achieve meaningful progress.

Describing his emergence as the beginning of a new dawn, he pledged unwavering dedication, diligence, and honour in serving the Ndola community. He expressed confidence that with divine guidance and the support of the people, the association would reach greater heights.

Members of the association expressed optimism that the new leadership would usher in renewed unity, growth, and a stronger community presence in Abuja.
