October Is Here: Gov. Kefas’ Promised Massive Road Construction Begins Across Taraba

Massive road construction projects have resumed across Taraba State as Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas begins to fulfill his promise of launching large-scale infrastructural development in all parts of the state. 

The renewed construction drive marks the beginning of what the governor earlier described as "a full-scale infrastructural transformation," aimed at connecting communities, enhancing mobility, and stimulating economic growth across Taraba.

In Wukari Local Government Area, work is currently ongoing on the Wukari–Kente–Chinkai road — a vital route that links several communities to Abuja and supports trade across the southern zone of the state. Heavy machinery from MouldsConstruction Company has already arrived at the site, while engineers and supervisors are on ground inspecting ongoing work.

Similarly, construction activities have resumed on the Maihula–Tonti road and Pamanga-Dakka road in Bali Local Government Area, as well as the Mararraba – Baissa – Abong road in KurmiLocal Government and other strategic routes across the state. The government has also announced plans to restart several township road projects within Jalingo metropolis.

Governor Kefas has directed contractors handling road projects abandoned by previous administrations to return to site immediately and complete their work within five months.

Speaking earlier on his administration's development agenda, the governor reiterated his commitment to people-centered governance, noting that infrastructure projects must reflect the true needs of the people.

"By October, we will embark on full-scale infrastructural development across the state, but the people need to tell us what their priorities are," Kefas said. "That is the only way to deliver projects that are genuine and meet the needs of communities."

Residents across the state are commending Governor Kefas for matching words with action, describing the ongoing projects as a clear demonstration of his commitment to progress, transparency, and inclusive development.

With contractors now back on site and visible work progressing across key locations, Taraba appears poised for a new era of connectivity and transformation under the Kefas administration.
