Hon. Sanusi Mohammed Mobilizes Support, Declares for Gashaka, Sardauna, Kurmi Rep. Seat

The political landscape of Taraba's Central Zone is beginning to heat up ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Hon. Sanusi Mohammed Galadima Nguroje has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Gashaka, Sardauna, and Kurmi Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Sanusi made the declaration during a well-attended event in Baissa, Kurmi Local Government Area, where he addressed party faithful, community leaders, and supporters in what he described as "a day of purpose, conviction, and commitment."

Earlier in the week, his declaration tour had taken him across the three local government areas that make up the constituency. In Gashaka LGA, he paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Ruler of Gashaka Kingdom, His Royal Highness Dr. Alhaji ZubairuHammangab'do Mohammed Sambo, to seek royal blessings and officially inform the traditional institution of his ambition. He also visited the APC Divisional Office in Gashaka town, where he was warmly received by party executives and supporters.

As part of his tour, Hon. Sanusi Mohammed Galadima Ngurojealso paid homage to His Royal Highness, the Lamido of Nguroje, where he received royal blessings and wise counsel in line with the cherished traditions of the Nguroje Kingdom.

He further visited His Royal Highness Dr. Shehu Audu Baju II, the Paramount Ruler of Mambilla, who conferred on him the prestigious royal title of Dan Galadima Mambilla.

This recognition, according to the royal institution, is not only a great honor to Hon. Sanusi Mohammed Galadima Nguroje but also a profound acknowledgment of his unwavering commitment, humility, and selfless service to the people of the Mambilla Plateau and beyond.

In his declaration speech, Hon. Sanusi emphasized two key themes — voter registration and community-driven representation. He urged all eligible voters across the constituency to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the PVC as "the power and voice of the people."

"Without your PVC, your voice is silent in the decisions that shape our lives," he said. "Let us mobilize our families, our friends, and our communities to participate fully in the voter registration exercise. Together, we can shape a brighter tomorrow."

Declaring his intention to contest, Hon. Sanusi said his decision was driven by the yearnings of the people and his passion to serve.

"Today is not just another day in my life; it is a day of purpose and conviction," he declared. "I have listened to the voices of our people — the farmer in the field, the graduate searching for employment, the mother supporting her family, and the youth yearning for opportunity. These voices have strengthened my resolve to serve you diligently and selflessly."

He outlined a development agenda for the constituency, focusing on agricultural empowerment, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure and social welfare, peace and unity, and accountable representation. According to him, his priorities will include providing farmers with quality inputs and access to credit, promoting entrepreneurship and job creation for youths and women, improving roads, healthcare, education, and clean water, fostering collaboration among traditional and religious leaders to maintain peace, and ensuring open, people-centered leadership.

Hon. Sanusi reaffirmed his commitment to serve with humility and integrity, pledging to be a representative who listens and acts in the people's best interest.

"I will be your voice in Abuja — a voice that listens, speaks, and acts for the people," he assured. "With your prayers, your support, and your votes, I promise to serve with honesty and dedication."

His declaration was met with cheers and chants of solidarity from supporters across the three local government areas, signaling growing grassroots enthusiasm around his campaign.
