Traditional rulers In Jibu Chiefdom Hail Gov Kefas


 

Traditional rulers under Jibu chiefdom in Bali local government area of Taraba on Monday applauded the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for the giant developmental achievements recorded within one year in office.

 

The traditional rulers unanimously commended the Governor for his free education policy which they said had relieved parents of the burden of financing education of their wards.

 

Mr Philimon Mashon, leader of Mumuye community in Bali who spoke to newsmen on behalf of other leaders said that the achievements of Governor Agbu within his one year in office was tremendous and monumental in the history of Taraba State.

 

Mashon also thanked Alhaji Abubakar Mahmoud, Kur Jibu and the Paramount Ruler of Jibu chiefdom for giving all tribes within his Chiefdom a sense of belonging.

 

He said that the Kur Jibu in his wisdom appointed traditional leaders of all tribes residents within the chiefdom who were reporting directly to him for purpose of maintaining peaceful coexistence among the tribes in the area. 

 

In his remark, Alhaji Abubakar Mahmoud thanked the tribal leaders for their solidarity and show of respect to his leadership and the Chiefdom. 

 

He encouraged them to maintain peace within their domains and promised to give them listening ears at all times. 

 

The monarch also thanked Governor Agbu for reviving the hitherto comatose meeting of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs in Taraba State, saying it would go along way in addressing governance at the grassroots.

 

The tribal leaders who paid their solidarity visit to the Kuru Jibu in his palace included; Mambila, Tiv, Wurkum, Mumuye, Karekare and Hausa.

 

Others are Fulani, Chamba, KutebIchenYangdanJenjoKamawa and Igbo.
