Opposition Leaders Say Taraba Is Moving Forward Under Gov Kefas

Members of opposition political parties in Taraba have commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his performance in the last one year saying the state is feasibly moving forward under his administration.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC and former state lawmaker Barr Abubakar Yehuza had earlier this year during an interview on radio commended Governor Kefas for tackling many of the challenges facing the state, expressing confidence that if the pace is sustained Taraba will witness better development under his leadership.

Also, a chieftain of Zenith Labor Party ZLP in Taraba State Comrade Harris Ishaku said the state government has impressed the people with its policies and programmes particularly the payments of backlog of gratuity stressing that it will uplift the living conditions of many retirees in the state.

"We must commend Governor Kefas for his performance irrespective of our political differences, the governor has shown seriousness to issues affecting the people.

"Our challenge is that the government should maintain the standard they have set for themselves , we want all we are seeing to last long and not stop in few years."

A former member of Social Democratic Party SDP State Executive Council Ayuba Kona said the commencement of payment of gratuity will end hardship faced by retirees in the state.

"Governance is about the people and not political parties, since Governor Kefas Agbu came to power the narrative about governance in Taraba State has been changing. Moving across Taraba state you can see a state that is moving forward , you can see new leadership in one year, the people are beginning to enjoy governance. The children enjoying the free education or reduction of school fees at the State tertiaries institution does not know political parties. The farmers who will use the tractors don't care which party is the governor, what we are witnessing in Taraba is a governor that listen to the people and his working, the governor is doing projects even in local governments that didn't vote for him during election  yet he prioritized their needs, that's leadership and good governance."

A leader of United Democratic Party UDP Adamu Bambur said people of the state are united in their support for Governor Kefas because of what they are seeing him do with state resources where other government failed.
