Tanko Danjuma Emerged As ASUSS Chairman In Taraba

 The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Taraba State Chapter, has inaugurated a new leadership to pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years.

The inauguration took place in Jalingo during the union’s first Quadrennial Delegates Conference, following elections conducted on Friday.

Tanko Danjuma emerged as Chairman and was sworn in alongside other members of the executive council by Barrister Fonga Umaru, who administered the oath of office and allegiance.

In his remarks, the outgoing Chairman, Comrade Sule Abasu, expressed appreciation to members for their support during his tenure and urged the new leadership to consolidate on the achievements recorded.

Delivering his inaugural address, Danjuma pledged to run an open-door administration and work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to improve teachers’ welfare and strengthen the union.

Representatives of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), who attended the conference, commended the outgoing leadership for its contributions to the growth of ASUSS and the promotion of teachers’ welfare in the state.

They also charged the new executive council to build on existing progress and intensify efforts toward advancing the teaching profession.

The conference featured cultural dance performances, adding colour to the event as delegates celebrated the peaceful transition of leadership.
