Works Advance Rapidly on Mararaba–Baissa Road

The Taraba State Government, under Governor Agbu Kefas, is making visible strides on the long-neglected Mararaba–Baissaroad, transforming the once-difficult corridor into a symbol of active governance and progress. 

Construction is moving steadily across the Mararaba–Didan, Didan–Baissa, and Ashuku–Abong sections. Residents say the pace and organization of work reflect a results-driven approach aimed at undoing years of infrastructural neglect and reconnecting communities to opportunity.

A recent assessment shows substantial activity on these stretches, with heavy machinery at work and timelines steadily taking shape. The government engaged three construction companies to handle separate sections at the same time, a strategy that ensures continuous progress and prevents delays.

Local farmers, traders, and families are already feeling the impact. Farmers can transport produce more easily, traders anticipate increased business, and communities enjoy better access to schools, health centers, and markets.

"The Mararaba–Baissa road is no longer just a road; it is a statement that governance in Taraba has shifted to action and delivery," said a community leader in Didan.

Officials say the Mararaba–Didan stretch will soon connect seamlessly with the Didan–Baissa section, while work from Ashuku to Abong continues steadily toward completion. Once finished, the corridor will provide smooth mobility, stimulate economic activity, and strengthen government presence across rural areas.

"This project demonstrates that under Governor Agbu Kefas, leadership is measured by tangible results that citizens can see and experience firsthand," said Barr Zainab Usman, Taraba State Commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation.

With works advancing at this pace, the Mararaba–Baissa road is set to become a lasting symbol of progress and improved livelihoods for residents.
