Andenati Backs Rima Shawulu for Takum, Ussa, Donga and Yangtu Federal Constituency
Hon. Sule Yakubu Andenati has stepped down from the race for the PDP ticket for Takum, Ussa, Donga and Yangtu Federal Constituency and thrown his weight behind Hon. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum.
Andenati announced his decision in a congratulatory and appreciation message to his supporters following the emergence of Shawulu as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While acknowledging that the outcome was not exactly what he had hoped for, Andenati said he accepted the development in the interest of peace, unity, stability and the greater good of the people.
He commended his supporters for their resilience, sacrifices and commitment throughout the political process, assuring them that their collective efforts and aspirations would not be abandoned.
“This journey does not end here,” Andenati said, stressing that he would remain committed to the success of the party and the interests of the constituents.
He said his political engagement would continue to focus on justice, meaningful service, dignity, empowerment and improved opportunities for the people.
Andenati also expressed appreciation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and PDP leader, Nyesom Wike, the national leadership of the party and the Taraba State party leadership for their roles and support during the process.
He particularly commended Wike for standing by his word during the political process, describing the minister's conduct as a demonstration of principle and leadership.
The former aspirant also thanked the person he described as the “incoming Governor of Taraba State” for respecting the internal mechanisms of the PDP without interference, saying such conduct would strengthen democratic institutions and party cohesion.
Congratulating Shawulu on his emergence, Andenati wished him wisdom, strength and success in representing the party.
He urged his supporters to remain strong, united and focused, saying political journeys would inevitably contain moments of victory and setback, but commitment to the people must remain constant.
“The political journey continues, and our collective responsibility remains to ensure that the interests, unity, peace, and progress of our people are protected,” he said.
Shawulu is expected to fly the PDP flag in the contest for the Takum, Ussa, Donga and Yangtu Federal Constituency.
