Kassa Moves to Reconcile with Gwampo, Calls for Unity in Yorro

A former Commissioner for Agriculture in Taraba State, Hon. Dr. David Ishaya Kassa, has initiated a reconciliation move with his political leader, Rt. Hon. Dr. M.D. Gwampo, in a bid to foster unity and accelerate development in Yorro Local Government Area.

Dr. Kassa convened a strategic meeting with political stakeholders, supporters, and community leaders to address lingering political differences between him and the former Taraba lawmaker, describing the past disagreements as issues that should now be laid to rest.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Kassa said the gathering was aimed at healing political divisions and creating a new path for peace, collaboration, and sustainable development in Yorro LGA.

According to him, while his relationship with Rt. Hon. Gwampo had experienced moments of political turbulence in the past, those grievances should now remain in the past as efforts are being made to rebuild trust and strengthen cooperation.

He stressed that reconciliation was necessary for the political and socio-economic progress of the area, noting that unity among political actors would restore confidence and create an enabling environment for development.

Dr. Kassa further expressed his readiness to work closely with Gwampo and other leaders to advance the interests of Yorro people and support the administration of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.

The meeting, which attracted loyal supporters, friends, party faithful and religious leaders, focused largely on the need for unity and collaboration as the foundation for political stability and development in the local government.

Among the speakers at the gathering was a former Caretaker Chairman of Yorro LGA, Hon. A. Kovoroba Asicus, who urged political actors and supporters to embrace peace and unity for the overall progress of the area.

He also encouraged residents to maintain faith in God, noting that such faith would help the community overcome past challenges and move toward a better future.

Also speaking, the member representing YorroConstituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Joseph Kassong Kannong, commended Dr. Kassa for taking what he described as a wise and diplomatic step toward reconciliation with his political leader.

Kannong noted that the initiative demonstrated leadership and maturity, adding that Yorro LGA must remain united and free from political division in order to achieve meaningful development.

He expressed optimism that the reconciliation effort would strengthen political cooperation and encourage collective action toward improving the welfare of the people.

Other dignitaries present at the meeting included former Executive Chairman of Yorro LGA, Hon. Joseph Sanwiri Mika, Vice Chairman of Yorro LGA Hon. Sani A. Mazang, Special Adviser on Women in Politics Hon. Fatima Zogimba, former councillors, special assistants, senior special assistants, party faithful and loyalists.

Participants described the meeting as a significant step toward healing past political disagreements and promoting collaborative leadership in Yorro LGA.

They expressed hope that the renewed spirit of unity among political leaders would create a stronger foundation for peace, stability and sustainable development in the area.
