APC Publicity Secretary Aaron ArtimasInstalled as Waziri of Sanwi Chiefdom

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Aaron Artimas, has been installed as the Waziri of Sanwi Chiefdom during the 2026 SungkiCultural Carnival of the Yandang people. 

 

The conferment took place on Saturday at Mayo-Lope during the annual Sungki Yandang Cultural Carnival, a cultural event that celebrates the heritage and traditions of the Yandang community.

 

The traditional title was bestowed on Artimas by the paramount ruler of the Sanwi Chiefdom, Haniel H. Banti, the Kpan Sanwi, who said the appointment was in recognition of Artimas' leadership qualities and contributions to the development of the Yandangcommunity.

 

In addition to the title, the community also honouredArtimas with an award for his previous contributions to the growth and promotion of the Yandang people.

 

Reacting to the honour, Artimas expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler and the Yandang community for finding him worthy of the role. He noted that although he had not anticipated holding a traditional title, he accepted the responsibility as a call to serve his people.

 

Artimas also acknowledged the support he had received from the Governor of Taraba State, AgbuKefas, who recently reaffirmed his role as the spokesperson of the APC in the state.

 

He pledged to use his new position to promote peace, unity and understanding within the Yandangcommunity and across Taraba State.

 

The Sungki Cultural Carnival is one of the major cultural gatherings of the Yandang people, attracting traditional rulers, political leaders and cultural enthusiasts from different parts of the state.
