Group Urges Christians to Obtain PVCs Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Christian Northern Nigeria Progressive Forum (C-NNPF), Taraba State chapter, has urged Christians across the state to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The call was made during the inauguration of the newly constituted state executive of the organisation, held on Monday at the C-NNPF secretariat in Jalingo.
Speaking after the inauguration, the State General Secretary of the forum, Hon. Henry Haniel Banti, said the organisation was established to sensitise Christians in Northern Nigeria on civic responsibility and to promote inclusiveness and unity in Taraba State. He stressed that active participation in the electoral process remains the most effective way for citizens to contribute to good governance.
Banti urged Christian faithful to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration process by ensuring they obtain their PVCs, noting that voting is key to shaping leadership and protecting collective interests.
In his remarks, the National Secretary of C-NNPF, Mijin Yowa Emmanuel, commended the organisation's Grand Matron, Her Excellency Oluremi Tinubu, for her support, as well as Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for what he described as purposeful leadership. He expressed confidence in the capacity of the newly inaugurated executives to advance the objectives of the forum.
Emmanuel also praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the inauguration ceremony, describing it as a reflection of internal cohesion within the organisation.
During the oath-taking session, members of the new executive pledged their commitment to the values and mission of the forum. Hon. Sabo Yaro was inaugurated as State Coordinator, Zachariah Filibus as State Organising Secretary, while Martha E. Juju emerged as the State Women Leader.
