Muhammed Shamsuddeen Usman: The Youth Advocate Shaping Tomorrow’s Politics
Rt. Hon. Muhammed Shamsuddeen Usman is a political lobbyist and real estate entrepreneur based in Abuja, whose growing influence within youth and political circles continues to attract attention across Northern Nigeria and beyond.
A native of Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, Usman is of Fulani extraction. His political drive, associates say, is rooted in a deep-seated belief in the potential of young people and a commitment to creating opportunities that allow them to thrive in governance, enterprise and leadership.
Beyond politics, he is the Managing Director of Elite Cycle Homes Limited, a real estate company operating from the Federal Capital Territory. Through his business engagements, he has built a reputation as a real estate mogul with interests in property development and housing solutions.
His political trajectory reflects sustained involvement in youth mobilization and party structures. He served as Speaker of the 15th Assembly in Mobbibo Adama University MAU, Yola, a role that positioned him prominently within youth legislative circles. He was also Zonal Youth Leader of the Osinbajo Youth Organization (OYO), where he coordinated youth-driven political activities across the north east zone.
Usman further held office as National Secretary of the Coalition of Nigerian Intellectual Youths, contributing to policy advocacy and youth intellectual engagement at the national level. He previously served as Zonal Deputy Speaker of the National Youth Network (NYN) and as Deputy Zonal Coordinator of the Intellectual Elite Youth Association of Nigeria (IYEAN), strengthening his footprint within organized youth movements.
Within party structures, he was North East Chief Press Secretary to the former Zonal Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), managing media and communication strategies across the region. He also served as Chairman of Taraba State Youth Concern for Good Governance, where he championed youth participation in democratic processes.
As a co-executive founder of Taraba My Home, Usman has been involved in initiatives aimed at promoting unity, development and civic responsibility among indigenes of Taraba State.
In 2026, he emerged as an aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling his ambition to play a more strategic role in shaping youth participation within the ruling party at the national level.
