Nura Dantsoho Meets Traders, Christian Youths, Pledges to Move Jalingo LGA Forward

As the November local government elections draw closer, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Jalingo Local Government Area, Hon. NuraDantsoho, has intensified consultations with stakeholders, meeting leaders of the trading community and Christian youth groups to seek their support and outline his development agenda for the council.

One of the groups that engaged with the candidate is the Jalingo LGA Concerned Christian Youth Network, a coalition of young Christians led by Mr. John Elisha and operating under the Concerned Christian Youth Forum (CCYF). The group aligns with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other denominational youth bodies such as CYON. The network is known for promoting unity, moral integrity, youth participation in community development, and for raising concerns about insecurity and alleged targeted violence against Christians in parts of Jalingo.

The youth group paid a solidarity visit to Hon. Nura Dantsoho at the Taraba State Scholarship Board, where he currently serves as Executive Chairman. They described him as the right candidate to lead Jalingo Local Government to stability and progress.

Earlier, Dantsoho also met with leaders of the Taraba State Traders Association. Welcoming him, the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Gamandi Adamu, expressed the group's solidarity with Dantsoho's ambition and reaffirmed their commitment to economic stability and cooperation with political leaders to ensure sustainable development in Jalingo'scommercial hubs.

In his remarks, Hon. Dantsoho thanked the traders for their support, describing himself as a businessman who understands their daily realities.

"I know what it means to run a business in this town. If given the mandate, I will uphold the dignity and welfare of traders and ensure that our markets function in an orderly, peaceful and profitable manner," he assured.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Aminu Jika, Member 3 of the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB), praised traders for their contribution to local development and urged them to remain united behind a candidate with a clear development plan for Jalingo.

Some members of the traders' association — including AlhajiKabiru AbdulmuminiAlhaji Kawuji Mai Chemist, and MallamAbdullahi Bello — also expressed confidence in Dantsoho'sleadership capacity and vowed to mobilize support ahead of the election.

Addressing religious leaders during the engagements, the PDP candidate promised to promote peace and interfaith harmony, stressing that unity among Christians and Muslims is essential for the development and security of Jalingo LGA.

Hon. Dantsoho said his campaign remains focused on inclusive governance, market reform, youth empowerment and restoring community trust in local administration.
