Late Permanent Secretary, Dauda Moses Maikomo, Laid to Rest in Jalingo

The remains of the late Permanent Secretary of the Abuja Liaison Office, DaudaMoses Maikomo, have been laid to rest at his residence in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

In his condolence message delivered at the funeral service, Governor Agbu Kefas described Maikomo as a dedicated and committed civil servant who served the state with distinction. The governor noted that Taraba State would deeply miss Maikomo's wealth of experience and service.

Governor Kefas used the occasion to remind attendees of the transient nature of life. He encouraged those present not to be overwhelmed by life's pressures, and to let go of bitterness, envy, and unforgiveness. He urged the grieving family to find comfort in God and place their trust in Him during this difficult time.

Delivering a sermon titled "God is Very Much Aware", Pastor Skwaila Maigoge, General Overseer of Life and Destiny Church, drew from Lamentations 3:22 and other scriptures. He emphasized that God is aware of every human circumstance, urging mourners to devote their lives to serving God. He reminded the congregation of the certainty of death and the importance of living wisely and vigilantly.

Several sympathisers also paid tribute to the late Maikomo, sharing testimonies that highlighted his humility, humanity, and enduring impact on those around him. The service featured heartfelt song renditions in honour of God and in memory of the deceased.

Born on June 11, 1975, Dauda Moses Maikomo attended several educational institutions and earned multiple academic qualifications. He began his professional journey in 2001 as a lecturer at the then College of Education, Jalingo—now located in Zing. He rose through the ranks of public service and was appointed Permanent Secretary in 2023, a position he held until his passing on June 10, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Becky Dauda Moses, their three children, and numerous relatives.

The funeral and final interment were attended by several senior government officials, friends, and well-wishers who came to pay their last respects.
