Tension in Kurmi Over Murder of CRC-N Pastor


Fears grip Baissa community in Kurmi Local Government  area over the killing of  a popular Pastor  Timothy Damisa in the early hours of Monday.

 

 

Pastor Timothy Damisa who is  a Regional Church Council (RCC) leader of the Christian Reform Church In Nigerian, CRC-N was assassinated by  unknown Gunmen at his residence in Baissa.


The Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins stormed the house of the cleric around 2-3AM on Monday.

 

His Wife , Mrs Rahab Damisa who spoke to our reporters said the gunmen started shooting when they came around to scare people away and forced their way into their home.

 

According to her, when they got in, they didn't ask for money or anything but shot at the husband and left.

 

The Chairman  of Kurmi Local Government , Hon. Joseph Amamzala confirmed the attacked saying the assailants stormed the house of the clergyman around 3:AM and killed him.

He said the issue has been reported to the police authorities, urging residents to remain calm.  

 

Some of the residents who spoke to our reporter lamented the rise of insecurity within Baissa community noting that people are living in fears of attack.

They however pleaded on the state government to come to their aide by ensuring a more formidable security network in the LG.

"Government and security agencies should beef up securities in Kurmi the influx of criminals and crimes is making us lives in fear and tension, why would a Pastor be assassinated, this shows that security in our community has failed, police must arrest the killers and bring them to justice," a community leader said.
