Hope dims on 30,000 minimum wages for Taraba workers




Thousands of workers who gathered at Jolly Nyame stadium for workers day celebration were disappointed as Deputy Governor of the state,Haruna Manu did not mention the state government position on the new minimum wage.

Haruna Manu who represented Governor Darius Ishaku at the event however did not say anything regarding position of government the new minimum wage.
He however commended Taraba workers for supporting his boss during the election by reelecting his boss for the second time.
The state chairman of the branch of Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Peter Gambo called on the government to implement the N30,000 new minimum wage for civil servants in the state. Comrade Gambo also urged Taraba state government to pay teachers and local government council workers 3 months’ salary arrears it owned them.
The labour chairman also called for lifted off ban on empowerment adding that many civil servants have retired from service and there is urgent needs to employ new hands to replace those that retired.
