My Blueprint Will Better Taraba – Prof Jerome Nyame

* Says Accord Party Will Win

Professor Jerome Nyame has declared that his blueprint will deliver meaningful development and reposition Taraba State for progress, as he officially joined the 2027 governorship race under the Accord Party, expressing confidence that the party will emerge victorious.

The declaration, held at the Catholic Pastoral Centre, Mile Six, Jalingo, drew a large crowd of party faithful, youths, women groups, and political delegates from across the state, who gathered amid cheers and applause.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Nyame explained that his decision to contest was not driven by personal ambition but by what he described as an urgent moral responsibility to serve the people of Taraba State. He said the state stands at a critical point where purposeful and people-oriented leadership has become imperative.

He further disclosed that after extensive consultations with elders, community leaders, and traditional stakeholders, he had formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Accord Party to pursue his governorship ambition.

Unveiling his policy direction, the aspirant introduced a “bold recovery blueprint” anchored on what he termed the 3Rs—Recovery, Resource Utilization, and Renegotiation. He explained that the framework is aimed at addressing economic challenges, harnessing the state’s abundant resources, and restructuring governance for efficiency and transparency.

On security, Professor Nyame promised to prioritize the safety of citizens through strengthened community dialogue and promotion of ethnic unity. He added that his administration would ensure that affected communities regain access to healthcare, education, and sustainable means of livelihood.

Speaking on youth empowerment, he said his government would invest in skills acquisition, agricultural development, entrepreneurship programmes, and innovation-driven opportunities to tackle unemployment and promote self-reliance among young people.

As the event, the Chairman of the Accord Party, Alhaji Hamman Muhammad, commended guests, dignitaries, delegates, and supporters for their presence, describing the turnout as a clear indication of growing support for the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
