After Close Door Meeting, Jolly Nyame Backs Kefas For Second Term
Former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly T. Nyame, has declared his full support for the reelection of Governor Agbu Kefas ahead of the 2027 governorship election, in a move seen as a significant political alignment in the state.
Nyame also reaffirmed his commitment to the Kefas administration, stressing the cordial relationship between both leaders despite their differing political backgrounds.
The development followed a closed-door meeting between the former governor and Governor Kefas at the T.Y. Danjuma House in Jalingo.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, Rev. Nyame described his relationship with the governor as one that transcends party affiliations, emphasizing that unity and mutual respect remain paramount.
“Our relationship is more important than party lines,” he stated, while expressing admiration for the governor’s leadership style.
He further disclosed that the Mumuye community would soon pay a solidarity visit to Governor Kefas as part of ongoing engagements aimed at strengthening political cooperation and support.
Responding, Governor Kefas noted that the former governor has remained consistent in his endorsement of his second-term bid, describing Nyame as a respected leader whose position carries weight across the state.
The governor reiterated the need for unity, peace, and collective progress, adding that collaboration among political leaders is critical to the continued development of Taraba State.
Earlier, the Director General of the Kefas Campaign for 2027, Mr. Danladi Baido, described the meeting as a major unifying step capable of bringing Tarabans together in support of the governor’s reelection ambition.
Political observers say the endorsement by Nyame, a key figure in Taraba politics, could reshape alliances ahead of 2027, particularly within the Mumuye bloc and across party lines.
