Police commissioner orders heightened patrols across Taraba

The Nigeria Police Force, Taraba State Command, has announced the deployment of enhanced security measures across the state aimed at safeguarding lives and property.

In a press release issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Mshelizah, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Moorkwap S. Dongshal, the Command said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and maintain public order.

The statement noted that the measures were implemented in line with directives from the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

It added that the Command has intensified visibility policing, strategic patrols, stop-and-search operations, and intelligence-driven surveillance across Taraba State.

According to the police, personnel have been deployed to strategic locations including major highways, worship centres, markets, motor parks, and other public spaces to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

Residents were also urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities using emergency contact numbers provided by the Command.

The police further issued a strong warning against the spread of misinformation, cautioning individuals and groups against creating or sharing unverified information capable of inciting panic or undermining public peace. It stressed that offenders would be investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Command advised the public to rely only on official communication channels of the police and other recognized government platforms for accurate information.

Reassuring residents of its commitment to safety, the Commissioner of Police urged citizens to go about their lawful activities without fear, while maintaining heightened security awareness.
