Ex-Gov Jolly Nyame Denies Involvement in Burning of Gov. Kefas’ Campaign Posters

 

Former Governor Jolly Nyame, has denied any involvement in the reported burning of posters and billboards belonging to Taraba State Governor, AgbuKefas, describing the act as unlawful and condemnable.

 

In a statement issued today, Nyame said the incident, which reportedly occurred in front of his residence, was carried out without his knowledge or consent.

 

He stressed that he neither sanctioned nor participated in the destruction of the campaign materials, adding that he remains committed to peace, mutual respect, and democratic values.

 

Nyame further explained that the billboard in question was personally printed and mounted by him, making it illogical for him to authorize its destruction.

 

“I condemn this act in its entirety and dissociate myself from it. There is no way I could authorize such an unlawful and unethical act on something I personally put up,” he said.

 

He urged members of the public and relevant authorities to disregard any attempt to link him to the incident, reiterating his status as a law-abiding citizen.

 

The incident has sparked concern among residents, though authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
