I Will Give Better Representation - Rep Aspirant Fanuel Lawrence, Lists Grassroots InterventionsIn Gashaka, Kurmi Sardauna

Hon. Fanuel D. Lawrence has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Gashaka, Kurmi and Sardauna Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging improved and people-oriented representation.

Lawrence made the declaration on Friday during a visit to the APC State Secretariat in Jalingo, where he met with the State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, and presented his track record of contributions to party development and community advancement.

He said his support for the party includes payment of outstanding rent and renovation of the APC divisional office in Kurmi, sponsorship of a new party secretariat in Gashaka, and renovation of the party office in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area.

The aspirant also disclosed that he supported the ongoing party e-registration exercise with about ₦2 million to boost participation and strengthen party structures.

On infrastructure, Lawrence said he facilitated the installation of solar mini-grids in 34 communities across Sardauna and parts of Gashaka, as well as donated sanitation tools to promote environmental cleanliness.

Highlighting his youth empowerment efforts, he said he partnered with a foundation in 2022 to organise a football competition on the Mambilla Plateau, while over 100 youths have been trained in graphic design and artificial intelligence.

He added that more than 10 youths secured employment opportunities through his support with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), while over 100 women and young entrepreneurs benefited from start-up capital.

In the health sector, Lawrence said he sponsored cervical cancer screening and treatment for over 300 women between 2022 and 2023 in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation.

He also disclosed that he has been funding the engagement of 10 casual staff to maintain cleanliness at Gembu General Hospital for the past nine months.

On education, he said he is funding the reconstruction of a four-classroom block in Njegiri Kabri community and has donated 5,000 exercise books to public primary schools in Sardauna and Gashaka, with plans to extend the initiative to Kurmi.

Lawrence assured that he would expand these interventions if elected, stressing that his ambition is driven by a desire to deliver effective and inclusive representation.

He congratulated the APC leadership in the state and sought their support, pledging loyalty to the party.

Responding, the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, commended Lawrence for his contributions and assured him of a level playing field, emphasizing that no aspirant would be given an automatic ticket.

Party stakeholders also reiterated that the race remains open, with all aspirants expected to test their popularity through the party’s primary process.
