Rep Lauya Sponsors 180 Youths for National Trade Certificate Exams
The Member representing Karim Lamido, Lau and Ardo Kola Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Audu Mohammed Lauya, has empowered over 180 youthsunder the National Training Council (NTC) and the National Board for Craftsmen (NBC) by sponsoring them for free trade certificate examinations.
This was disclosed by the Zonal Coordinator of the Hon. A.M. Lauya NTC/NBC Trade Certificate Examination Initiative, Comrade Aliyu Shehu Bambur, during an interview in Jalingo.
According to him, the Hon. A.M. Lauya NTC/NBC Trade Certificate Examination Initiative is aimed at providing youths with the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised trade certificates that will enhance their employability and promote self-reliance. He added that all the beneficiaries are expected to receive trade test certificates as well as tools and equipment for their various professions.
Bambur described the gesture as a welcome development that will empower youths from Karim Lamido, Lau and Ardo Kola Local Government Areas by helping them develop practical skills for the benefit of the constituency.
He also noted that the lawmaker is targeting youths in the constituency as part of efforts to address rising cases of youth restiveness and engage them in productive ventures.
He explained that the certificate programme, which is being conducted in collaboration with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), is highly recommended for youths seeking to advance in their chosen careers. He added that the programme is open to both educated and non-educated persons.
Bambur further urged constituents to support the A.M. Lauyainitiative in order to enable the lawmaker attract more developmental programmes to the constituency.
One of the beneficiaries, Sabastine Cletus Sanya from ArdoKola, expressed satisfaction with the project, noting that it would greatly assist him and other beneficiaries in their professional pursuits.
According to him, the certificate programme initiated by the Member of the House of Representatives will stand out as one of the key empowerment projects executed by Hon. Lauya in the Karim Lamido, Lau and Ardo Kola Federal Constituency.
Another beneficiary, Nazira Yusuf, also commended the lawmaker for the initiative and urged him to extend the programme to other constituents who are yet to benefit. She further called on the people of the constituency to support the re-election bid of the federal lawmaker.
She also appealed to the lawmaker to continue his goodwill by facilitating employment opportunities for some of the beneficiaries through the National Training Council and the National Board for Craftsmen, describing the initiative as part of Hon. A.M. Lauya's developmental scorecard.
Commenting on the initiative, another participant, Isma'ilaGambo from Karim Lamido, described the gesture as a testament to Hon. Lauya's commitment to youth empowerment in the constituency.
While appreciating the lawmaker's representation, Gamboexpressed optimism that the beneficiaries would greatly benefit from the programme and assured Hon. Lauya of their unwavering support, particularly toward his re-election bid in 2027.
However, when the NABTEB program is completed, participants will be awarded the National Business Certificate (NBC) and the National Technical Certificate (NTC).
