Ussa Community Development Initiative Lauds Kefas’ Leadership, Calls for Peace

 

The Ussa Community Development Initiative (UCDI) has commended Governor Agbu Kefas for what it described as bold and visionary leadership, particularly the ongoing construction of the Takum–Lissam Road.

 

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Nwunuji Rimamtenrikwen, the group said the road project is a strategic infrastructure that will enhance mobility across Ussa, Takum and adjoining communities, while strengthening the long-standing cultural and social ties between Ussa and Wukari.

 

The association described the project as a clear demonstration of the governor's commitment to connecting communities to opportunity and accelerating development at the grassroots.

 

UCDI, which described itself as the only community association with active membership across all wards in Ussa Local Government Area, stated that it remains a non-political body dedicated to the advancement and welfare of the people of Ussa.

 

The group further urged residents of the area to support the administration of Governor Kefas, noting that his government has consistently prioritised development, inclusivity and community progress.

 

While applauding ongoing projects, the association appealed to the governor to complete the Ussa General Hospital in Lissam, describing it as a critical facility that will significantly improve healthcare access and outcomes for residents.

 

UCDI also hailed the emergence of Professor Benjamin Kefas as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Wukari, describing it as a historic development for southern Taraba. The group credited the governor's facilitation and inclusive leadership style for the milestone, noting that Ussa and Wukari share deep cultural affinity.

 

On the situation in the local government, the association called for peace and dialogue, urging the Executive Chairman of Ussa LGA, Hon. Abershi Musa, and social media personality True Comrade to sheathe their swords in the interest of unity and development.

 

The group advised the council chairman to remain focused on peace-building and development efforts, rather than political criticism.

 

It concluded by reaffirming its support for Governor Kefas, commending his transformative leadership and tangible impact on the lives of the people of Ussa and Taraba State.
