Never in the annals of YangtuSpecial Development Area of Taraba since its creation in 2008 by the administrator of Pharm Danbaba Suntai has the lives of the people of the area monumentally impacted within a short period of time as they're currently witnessing.
From the day he was sworn in as Coordinator of Yangtu Special Development Area on 15th October, 2025 by the Governor of Taraba State His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, Honourable Joel Rimamscap hit the ground running in his quest to positively impact and transform the lives of the people of the four communities of Kwambai, Bika, Jenuwa Gida and Jenuwa Kogi that made up Special Development Area.
Just within his first 100 days in office, he has left no one in doubt of his mission and vision for the people of the area as he flagged off and inaugurated projects upon projects in a manner that was alien to the area.
On assuming office, Hon Rimamscap immediately embarked upon the massive renovation and expansion of the Secretariat of Development Area situated at Kwambai. The secretariat had been vandalized in 2023/2024 during the crisis between the Kutebs and Fulanis with the electrical installations completely removed. Perhaps, the most impactful project executed by Rimamscap within 100 days is the provision of motorized solar powered bore holes with 10,000 litres overhead tanks in Kwambai, Jenuwa Gida, Bika and Jenuwa Kogi communities to address the challenge of water scarcity in the communities. The people in the communities now have access to clean, safe and sustainable water supply which has significantly improved their living conditions.
Furthermore, the Rimamscap administration has installed solar powered Starlink in Kwambai to boost internet and phone network in the area. It is worthy of note that the installation has enabled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register over 7000 new voters and the exercise is still ongoing.
