Takum–Lissam Road: Ussa LG Boss Commends Gov Kefas

Vote of Thanks by the Chairman, Ussa Local Government Area At the Flag Off Ceremony of the Takum–Lissam Road By the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas

1. Your Excellency Sir, today will be remembered as a defining moment in the history of Ussa Local Government Area. For decades, the Takum–Lissam Road stood as a painful symbol of neglect, a daily reminder of promises deferred and opportunities lost under past administrations. Today, under your purposeful and people centered leadership, that narrative has been decisively rewritten. What we witness here is not just the flag off of a road project, but the restoration of hope, dignity, and inclusion for our people.

 

2. Your Excellency, your leadership has gone far beyond rhetoric and political symbolism. It has been deliberate, compassionate, and firmly rooted in the realities of the common man in Taraba State. Your bold commitment to free education has lifted a burden off countless families, while your unwavering attention to healthcare speaks to your understanding that development begins with healthy and educated citizens. We particularly commend your resolve in driving the completion of the Lissam General Hospital, a project that stands as clear evidence of your insistence on finishing what matters to the people.

 

3. On behalf of the good people of Ussa Local Government Area, we express our deepest and most sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for initiating and prioritizing these transformative projects. We assure you of our continued cooperation, constructive engagement, and collective responsibility to ensure that development is sustained. As partners in progress, we look forward with confidence to additional interventions. 

 

 

4. Your Excellency Sir, permit me to respectfully and categorically highlight some critical projects which, if actualized, will be true game changers for our people and the broader economic life of this axis. The less than seven kilometre road linking Lissam to Kwesati will unlock agricultural communities, ease rural mobility, and significantly improve access to markets and social services. Equally transformative is the 30km Takum–Kpambo–Kpambo Puri–Fikyu Road, which will serve as a strategic economic corridor, enhance inter community integration, and stimulate trade, security, and inclusive development across Ussa and adjoining areas. We place these projects before Your Excellency in faith and confidence, trusting in your proven commitment to balanced and people driven development.

 

5. Your Excellency, the sight of heavy duty equipment now stationed within our communities fills our people with genuine joy and renewed confidence in government. It is tangible proof that this administration delivers. As you and your distinguished entourage depart, we pray for journey mercies and continued strength as you lead Taraba State on this path of purposeful and inclusive development.
