Archbishop Maxwell Atajiri Joins ADC, Eyes Governorship
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Taraba State has formally welcomed prominent governorship aspirant, Archbishop Maxwell M. Atajiri, as he received his party membership card in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the brief ceremony at the ADC Secretariat in Jalingo, Archbishop Atajiri described his entry into the party as the beginning of "a new chapter" for Taraba State.
He said his aspiration is driven by a commitment to confront unemployment and insecurity, with youth empowerment forming a central pillar of his plans if elected governor.
Atajiri also vowed to tackle poverty "from the roots," assuring that the people of Taraba State "will rejoice" under his leadership.
Welcoming the new member, the ADC State Chairman, Hon. Adamu Hassan Mohammed, assured Archbishop Atajiri of a level playing field as he prepares to officially declare his governorship ambition.
Receiving his membership card, Atajiri said the moment was a defining step in his political journey and a reaffirmation of his resolve to serve the people of Taraba State with sincerity and purpose.
The event drew a large crowd of party officials, supporters, and well-wishers, who thronged the ADC Secretariat to witness the milestone.
