NNPP Taraba Reaffirms Loyalty to Prof. Sani Yahaya

The Taraba State chapter of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) has dismissed reports suggesting that its key stakeholders and members have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing journalists in Jalingo, the NNPP State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ade, described the rumours as false and misleading. He maintained that the party remains intact and continues to operate as a fully independent political party duly registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Alhaji Ade said the chairmen of the 16 local government areas and other critical stakeholders were all in attendance at the party's recently concluded State Working Committee meeting, signifying unity and cohesion within the NNPP.

"I called you journalists to inform the people of Taraba State that we are not part of those defecting to APC, PDP, or any other political party," he stated. "We, the NNPP in Taraba State, have not defected. Instead, we are exploring a coalition with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and discussions are ongoing."

He appealed to NNPP members and supporters across the state to remain calm and steadfast, assuring them of the party's stability under the leadership of Professor Muhammed Sani Yahaya, whom he described as a caring and visionary leader.

"Our loyalty to Professor Yahaya is unshakable," he added.

Professor Yahaya was the NNPP governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.

Local government chairmen present at the SWC meeting included Hon. Audu Rabilu (Karim Lamido), Hon. Sheba James (Zing), Hon. Mohamud Imam (Gassol), and Hon. Audu Jibril Amanki (Ussa), among others.
