Tarok Stakeholders Meet Aku Uka of WukariOver Escalating Security Challenges

Concerned by the worsening security situation affecting Tarok communities and other Plateau indigenes residing in Taraba State, a delegation of Tarok stakeholders led by former Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Solomon Dalung, has met with the Aku Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Ada Ali, to seek collaborative solutions.

The consultative meeting, held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Aku Uka's palace in Wukari, was convened to address the spate of coordinated terrorist attacks that have claimed many lives and displaced families in recent months. Victims reportedly include women, children, and even security personnel, while homes, farmlands, and properties have been destroyed by armed assailants.

Responding to the distressing situation, the Aku Uka, who also serves as Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Chiefs, brought together community leaders and representatives of the Tarok, Ngas, Tal, and Kwalla ethnic groups for a high-level peace dialogue.

After extensive deliberations, participants resolved to strengthen inter-community collaboration, enhance intelligence sharing, and coordinate collective security measures to confront the growing threats.

The meeting further emphasized the importance of unity, vigilance, and continuous dialogue among all affected communities, noting that peace and mutual trust remain essential to restoring stability across Taraba and neighboring Plateau regions.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the renewed partnership and royal intervention would pave the way for more effective community-based security responses and long-term reconciliation efforts.
