FUTI Honours FMC Jalingo MD With Excellence Award for Transformational Leadership
The Future Taraba Initiative (FUTI) has presented its maiden "Excellent Leadership and Meritorious Service Award" to the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, in recognition of her reforms and outstanding service in the state's health sector.
FUTI, a non-profit organisation established in 2015 to advance peace, unity, good governance and development in Taraba State, held the award ceremony on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the FMC Conference Hall.
Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu — recently reappointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — was honoured for what FUTI described as "transformational leadership", evidenced by the digitisationof medical services, expansion of hospital infrastructure, acquisition and installation of modern equipment, and sustained investment in staff training and retraining.
Presenting the award, FUTI Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Isa Mohammed, praised Dr. Aisha's leadership footprint and said the organisation was proud to issue its first-ever award in Taraba State to a leader whose work has had measurable institutional and humanitarian impact.
Responding, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu expressed delight at the honour, saying such recognition serves as motivation to do more.
"I am deeply grateful to FUTI for this recognition. This award is a call to even greater commitment to service and humanity," she said.
Delivering a vote of thanks, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, FMC Jalingo, Dr. Suleiman Abubakar Kirim, thanked FUTI for the honour, noting that the award reflects the collective effort of the staff and management of the hospital.
He described the gesture as timely encouragement in the quest to sustain excellence in healthcare delivery in Taraba State.
