CBN Deputy Gov. Dr. Bala Mohammed Kakara Supports Garba Chede Windstorm Victims with Cash Donation

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello Kakara, has provided financial assistance to victims of the recent windstorm that devastated Garba Chede in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The support follows the tragic incident of June 2nd, which claimed six lives, injured over 30 individuals, and destroyed hundreds of homes, shops, and places of worship—leaving more than 120 families homeless.

A delegation led by the Deputy Governor's Chief of Staff, Dr. Abubakar Bala Yakubu, visited the community to deliver the cash donation on behalf of Dr. Kakara.

During the visit, Dr. Yakubu offered condolences to the traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Kaigama Maigandi, and conveyed the Deputy Governor's commitment to assisting the affected families in their recovery efforts.

In his response, the Chief of Garba Chede expressed deep appreciation for the gesture and appealed to the Taraba State Government and other well-meaning Nigerians to also support the victims.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance and urged for additional support, especially in the form of building materials to help them reconstruct their homes.

According to community reports, the windstorm affected 923 households, with 124 families completely displaced.
