Cover: Gov Kefas Begins Reconstruction Of Abandoned Taraba Nursing College

The Taraba State government has embarked on total reconstruction of the College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo after previous government had abandoned the to rot. 

Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper last year reported that structures meant to have been the school laboratories, lecture halls, staff quarters and other relevant administrative offices at the Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo are yet to be completed several years after administration of late Governor Danbaba Suntai commenced them.

 The condition has forced the school to remain behind the standard required for Nigerian colleges of nursing and midwifery in the country. Many staff explained that the situation was hampering quality service delivery for students to become the best that is required for health services.

 Senior Special  Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on media and digital communication,  Emmanuel Bello, said the new administration has placed premium on the complete reconstruction of to school. 

Bello said that the project was very important to the administration because of the importance it attached to the training medical staff.

He said the school, when completed, will train nurses and midwives and will address the shortage of nurses and midwives facing many government owned hospitals. 

He said apart from free education, the administration has embarked on massive  renovation of both primary and secondary schools across the state as part of its efforts to address the problem of infrastructure in government-owned schools across the state.
