Residents Commend Senator Haruna Manu Over 4MW Solar Power Project In Bali
Residents of Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have commended Senator Haruna Manu, representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, over the ongoing construction of a four-megawatt off-grid solar power project in the area.
The residents said the project, when completed, would provide a more reliable electricity supply and support economic activities in Bali.
The Sarkin Matasa of Bakundi, Malam Sulaiman Yusuf Bakundi, described the project as the fulfilment of one of Senator Manu’s campaign promises.
He called on residents of the Taraba Central Senatorial District to support Manu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general election.
The project is currently under construction in Bali and is expected to improve electricity supply for businesses and other economic activities in the area.
A delegation led by Hon. Yunusa Simon Dogari recently visited the project site to assess the progress of work and encourage the contractors to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe.
Giving an update on the project, the site engineer, Abubakar Nasir, said construction was progressing well and nearing completion.
Also speaking, Ambassador Rebecca Jummai Anthony, Director of Women for the Haruna Manu Campaign Team, commended the project, saying reliable electricity would help residents expand their businesses and create opportunities for young people.
Professor Ahmed Yusha’u, one of the directors of the campaign organisation, said the project would support businesses, industries and youth empowerment.
He urged residents to protect and properly manage the facility when completed to ensure its sustainability.
Senator Manu’s Legislative Aide, Barrister Ahmadu Hamidu, also expressed satisfaction with the project, saying residents had been looking forward to such an intervention.
The four-megawatt off-grid solar power project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026.
