Taraba Donates 500 Mattresses, N9.5m To Augment NYSC Orientation Camp Food Supplies
The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has donated Five Hundred (500) pieces of new mattresses for corps members at the orientation.
In addition, the Governor also donated the sum of N9.5 million for the augmentation of food supplies for corps members and officials for the ongoing 2023 Batch B Stream II orientation course held at the permanent orientation camp in Sibre.
Governor Kefas, represented by the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Ambassador Joseph Joshua, said the gesture has become imperative as part of his administration's humanitarian assistance and resolve to always support the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as part of the government's commitment to the development of youths in the state.
At the brief ceremony where the items were handed over to the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Nzoka, Governor Kefas further enjoined the corps members to reciprocate the kind gesture by discharging their duties creditably when they begin their primary assignment in the sixteen local government areas of the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mr. Nzoka, expressed his profound gratitude to the State Government for the assistance and unjustifiable support to the scheme in the state, saying that it would go a long way in strengthening the challenge of accommodation at the Sibre orientation camp.
He further pledged to support the state government by ensuring the even deployment of corps members to the critical sectors of education, agriculture, health, works, infrastructure, Information Communication Technology, as well as the informal sector to deepen and galvanize the growth and development of the state.
Mr. Nzoka seized the occasion to express sincere appreciation to Governor Kefas for the brand new mattresses and the food augmentation to the NYSC scheme in the state, stating that the gesture would go a long way to promote and deepen corps welfare in the state.
