Lawyer Writes Police IG, Demands Unconditional Release Of Lady Arrested For Criticizing Senator Bwacha






Jalingo based lawyer and human rights activist, Barr Lukmam Bilyaminu Maihanchi have called for the unconditional release of Hajiya Ladi JJ Bello who was arrested for criticizing Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.

Maihanchi in a letter said since the news of her arrest, the family of the victim does not know anything of her whereabouts or arraignment before any competent court of law.


The lawyer also requested for the complain against the grassroot politician from the Senator if available, stressing that her detention is a breach of her fundamental rights.
 
"Sir, it may interest you to know that the 2023 election is approaching and desperate politicians are using any available means to humiliate, frustrate or destroy their oppositions who refuse to join their political permutations and I know you will not allow such acts by the desperate politicians to use your institutions in achieving their personal political interests.

"It is no longer news, even in the villages of Taraba state, the missing of the popular politician is in connection with the haunt by some desperate politicians whom she refused to join their political mobilization as one of the most popular grassroot mobilizer in Taraba State by creating malicious allegations against her," the right activist said.

2023: Northern Youths Urge Joel Ikenya To Contest Governor

The Northern Youth Alliance for Good Governance has endorsed Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya to contest for Governorship position in Taraba state.

The Chairman of the group Iliya Boniface made the endorsement during briefing to newsmen at Taraba Motel, Jalingo.

Iliya Boniface remarked that the group choose Joel Danlami Ikenya to vie for Governorship under the platform of the People's Democratic Party, PDP because of his pedigree and outstanding qualities.


 
The Chairman added that Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya being a grassroot politician stand a better chance to vie for the Governorship position as he knows the yearnings and aspirations of Tarabans.

Boniface revealed that after careful deliberation and thorough consultation with some stakeholders from the group, they resolved as youths to throw their weight in support of Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya's candidature come twenty twenty three general elections.

The group said the agitation for power shift to the northern zone or maintaining of the zoning arrangement by some Northern political elites is outdated and undemocratic.

Iliya Boniface called on Tarabans to key into the clarion call by the Northern Youth Alliance for Good Governance to support Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya.


 
On his part,the organising secretary Northern Youth Alliance for Good Governance, Pele Geoffrey said the clarion call on Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya was a uniform decision by youths drawn from Northern zone of the state.

In their separate comments, Alfred Gambo Bandawa from Lau, Cletus Yohanna from Zing and Lazarus Hussein from Ardo kola all voiced their support for the candidature of senator Joel Danlami Ikenya.

They said Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya is qualified to contest for Governorship position come twenty twenty three under the platform of the People's Democratic Party PDP.

The youths who converged for the endorsement of Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya were drawn from Jalingo, Yorro,Ardokola, Zing and Lau local government Areas constituting the Northern senatorial zone.
