Gov. Ishaku Orders Supply of Transformers to Southern Zone


As parts of efforts to ensure communities in Taraba state benefits from the yet to be commissioned Kashimbila Dam Power Project, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has ordered massive supply of transformers to Southern part of the state.

 

Speaking journalists in Jalingo,  Commissioner of Power Badina Garba said the state government has mandated the Ministry to supply transformers to areas that are in need of it starting with the Southern parts which includes the evacuation of Kashimbila Dam power project, down to the Northern part of the state among other areas  adding that the Kashimbilla project is about ninety five percent completion.

He commend the efforts of Governor Darius Ishaku for create the Ministry of Power to ensure that electricity supply in the state.

Garba, said so far apart from supplying several numbers of transformers in the state, to ensure electricity supply the ministry has embarked on sensitization campaign of the Mambilla hydro power project to two local government areas which are Kurmi and Sardauna, rating the campaign as a success.

Badina Garba says land compensation is the last stage before the commencement of the Mambilla Hydro Power Project.

 Badina Garba noted that the Mambilla Hydro Power Project is in phases which ranges from sensitization, land survey and demarcation , enumerators among others, saying that report from the enumerators would shows the number of land owners that will be compensated.

Badina called on Tarabans especially those living in the remote areas to key into the Rescue Mission of Governor Darius administration, adding that the Governor is doing everything possible to ensure steady power supply in the state.
