Sale Sa’ad Empowers 600 Residents in Jalingo

The Chairman of the Taraba State Palliatives Committee, Hon. Sale Sa’ad, has empowered residents of Jalingo Local Government Area with cash support aimed at boosting livelihoods and easing economic hardship.

At an event held at Shield Hotel in Jalingo, one hundred men drawn from ten wards received one hundred thousand naira each, while five hundred women were given twenty thousand naira each.

Speaking during the distribution, Sale Sa’ad said the initiative was designed to support six hundred beneficiaries across the ten wards, noting that the intervention was targeted at cushioning the effects of the current economic realities and improving the living standards of the people.

He described the empowerment as timely, stressing that it aligns with ongoing efforts to provide relief to vulnerable groups and stimulate grassroots economic activity in the state.

The committee chairman added that the gesture was part of broader support for the policies and programmes of Governor Agbu Kefas, which he said are focused on development and social welfare.

He also called on political leaders and stakeholders to emulate such interventions by contributing meaningfully to governance and supporting initiatives that directly impact the people.

Sale Sa’ad further disclosed that the funds disbursed during the exercise were sourced from his personal contribution as part of his commitment to complement government efforts.

Earlier, Chairman of the Organising Committee, Hon. Abubakar Inuwa, popularly known as Graba Pele, described the programme as timely and impactful, especially in view of the prevailing economic challenges facing many households. He commended Sale Sa’ad for what he termed a people-oriented intervention.

In their separate remarks, stakeholders including Hon. Nura Dantsoho, Hon. Danladi Baido, and the Galadima of Muri, Alhaji Tukur Abba Tukur, lauded the initiative and described it as a demonstration of responsive leadership.

They also expressed satisfaction with the improved security situation in Taraba State over the past two years, attributing it to deliberate policies of the current administration, and pledged their continued support.

Beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as a lifeline that would help them sustain small businesses and meet immediate needs.

Sale Sa’ad urged recipients to make judicious use of the funds, emphasizing that the success of such interventions depends largely on how well they are utilized.
