Ussa Council Boosts Security Ahead of 2026 Farming Season
The Ussa Local Government Council in Taraba State has intensified security measures to safeguard lives and farmlands ahead of the 2026 farming season.
The Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Abershi Musa, disclosed that a Special Task Force has been established to patrol Kuteb farming communities and key border areas within the local government.
According to him, the task force has already commenced operations, carrying out regular patrols aimed at maintaining peace and preventing encroachment on farmlands.
He noted that security presence has been strengthened across all wards and villages, with improved surveillance, enhanced intelligence gathering, and rapid response mechanisms to address emerging threats.
"Our priority is to protect farmers, secure our communities, and ensure that the farming season progresses without disruption," Musa said.
The chairman also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely information.
He emphasized that community cooperation remains critical to sustaining peace and protecting livelihoods across Ussa Local Government Area.
