Taraba Governor Honours Fallen Police Officers, Donates ₦1m to Each Family

Jalingo — The Taraba State Police Command has announced that the Executive Governor of the state, Agbu Kefas, has paid tribute to police officers who lost their lives in active service at Tor-Damisa, extending condolences and financial support to their families.


The fallen officers — Cpl Raphael Danjuma, PC Ebenezer Daniel, and PC Samuel Bawa — were described as having paid the ultimate price while protecting lives and property in the state.


The statement was signed by ASP Victor Mshelizah, Acting Police Public Relations Officer, for the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command.


 the Command disclosed that the Governor, through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, presented letters of condolence alongside a donation of ₦1,000,000 each to the bereaved families.


According to the state government, the gesture was aimed at recognising the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the deceased officers. Governor Kefas described their deaths as a profound loss, not only to their families but also to the Nigeria Police Force and the people of Taraba State.


Responding on behalf of the Command and the bereaved families, the Commissioner of Police, Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal, expressed appreciation to the Governor for what he described as a humane and compassionate intervention.


He noted that the support would provide relief to the affected families while boosting the morale of officers and men of the Command. The CP also commended the Governor for demonstrating concern for the welfare of security personnel and standing with the Police during a period of grief.


The Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while urging members of the public to continue supporting security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the state.
