Taraba APC Adopts Consensus Method for Party Congresses

The Taraba State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to adopt the consensus method for the nomination of party executives and delegates across the state.

The resolution was reached during a meeting of the SWC held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, where members deliberated on key party matters affecting the future of the APC in Taraba State.

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the decision was taken pursuant to the powers conferred on the committee by Article 13.9 (i) and (vii) of the APC Constitution, 2022 (as amended), and in line with Section 84(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

The committee resolved that the party in Taraba State, under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Taraba State, will adopt the consensus approach for the emergence of Ward Executives, Local Government Executives, State Executives, and all categories of party delegates.

To ensure a smooth process, the SWC directed all party stakeholders to return to their respective wards and local government areas to engage in wide consultations with party members aimed at producing consensus lists of executives and delegates.

The committee further resolved that all stakeholders must restrict their political activities strictly to their wards and local government areas, warning that no party member is permitted to encroach upon or interfere in areas where he or she is not duly recognized.

The party leadership cautioned against any form of overbearing political activity across wards and local governments, stressing that such actions could undermine internal harmony.

The SWC called on all APC members in the state to strictly comply with the resolutions in the interest of unity, peace, discipline and the overall success of the party in Taraba State.
