Party Loyalists Petition National Leadership Over Alleged Omission of Members
Concerned members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State have petitioned the national leadership of the party over the alleged omission of dedicated party loyalists from a recently compiled party list, with IbbiLocal Government Area said to be the worst affected.
The petition, addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the Deputy National Chairman, AlhajiBukar Dalori, and the National Working Committee (NWC), described the omissions as a serious threat to party unity and morale at the grassroots.
According to the petitioners, several long-standing party faithful in Ibbi LGA, including grassroots mobilizers, ward coordinators and party stalwarts, were excluded from the list without justification, despite their years of commitment to building and sustaining the party at polling unit, ward and local government levels.
They noted that the affected members had stood by the APC during challenging periods, invested personal resources and worked consistently to strengthen the party's structure, adding that their exclusion has generated dissatisfaction and could discourage loyal members ahead of future political engagements.
The petitioners stated that the development occurred under the leadership of the Taraba State APC Chairman, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, stressing that while they acknowledged the efforts of the state leadership, party processes must be guided by transparency, inclusiveness and fairness to uphold internal democracy.
They called on the APC national leadership to urgently intervene by ordering a comprehensive review of the submitted list from Taraba State, ensuring that all genuine and verifiable party loyalists—particularly from Ibbi Local Government Area—are duly recognized and included.
The group also urged the party to put in place measures that would guarantee transparency, fairness and accountability in future party documentation and recognition processes.
The petition, signed by Salahuddin Jauro Dinga on behalf of concerned party loyalists from Ibbi Local Government Area, emphasized that the appeal was not intended to create division but to strengthen the party, preserve unity and reward loyalty.
They expressed confidence in the capacity of the National Working Committee to address the matter promptly and equitably in the overall interest of the APC in Taraba State.
