Kefas’ Defection to APC a Blessing for Taraba — Mukhtar Galadima

 

A former Director in the Department of Development Control at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), TPL Mukhtar Galadima, has described the defection of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a blessing for the state.

Galadima, who is also an APC chieftain in Taraba State, made the remark on Monday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jalingo.

He said Governor Kefas' decision to align with the ruling party at the centre would open up greater opportunities for Taraba State, particularly in terms of federal support and access to national resources.

According to him, belonging to the party that controls the Federal Government places Taraba in a strategic position to benefit from increased interventions, projects and policies of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

Galadima called on the people of the state to rally round the governor and give him the needed support to achieve his vision of transforming Taraba State.

"I feel the return of Governor Agbu Kefas to the APC is a blessing to Taraba State," he said. "His wisdom in keying into the vision of President Bola Tinubu and the APC demonstrates his uncommon commitment and zeal to take the state to an enviable height."

The retired director expressed confidence in the capacity of Governor Kefas to deliver on his mandate, pledging his personal support to the administration.

"On my part, I will support the administration of Dr. AgbuKefas, and I am confident that he will not fail, especially now that he has joined the progressive family," Galadima added.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu, the leadership of the APC and party stakeholders for what he described as a strong show of solidarity with the government and people of Taraba State during the governor's defection ceremony held last Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Governor Kefasrecently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC and was formally received by President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other top party leaders.
