Hon. Bako Benjamin Announces School Rehabilitation Projects in Takum

The Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Bako Benjamin, has announced plans to rehabilitate and renovate selected public schools in the area, reaffirming his administration's commitment to strengthening the education sector in line with Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas' "Moving Forward" agenda on education for every child in Taraba State.

Hon. Bako made this known on Monday, February 9, 2026, during an unscheduled inspection visit to Rimi Primary School, Islamiya Primary School, and Government Commercial Secondary School, Takum.

During the visit, the council chairman interacted with head teachers and the school principal, conducting a comprehensive assessment of classrooms, administrative blocks and other key facilities. He inspected the general state of infrastructure and identified areas requiring urgent rehabilitation.

Addressing school administrators and staff, Hon. Bako stressed the importance of providing a safe, conducive and well-equipped learning environment to enhance academic performance. He noted that quality education is closely tied to the condition of school facilities and assured that his administration is determined to improve the standard of public schools across the local government area.

The chairman announced that the renovation of the three schools would form the first phase of a wider intervention programme aimed at upgrading educational infrastructure throughout Takum Local Government.

He assured stakeholders of the council's continued investment in education as a critical driver of community growth and sustainable development.

The inspection visit, observers say, reflects Hon. BakoBenjamin's proactive leadership and commitment to improving students' welfare and promoting academic excellence in Takum.
