City Boy Movement Vows to Mobilise for Gov. Kefas Following Defection to APC

 

The City Boy Movement in Taraba State has declared its full support for Governor Agbu Kefas following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), vowing to mobilise grassroots support across the state to strengthen the party's presence and electoral fortunes.

 

In a statement signed by its Director, Hon. Prince SanusiGaladima, the group described Governor Kefas' entry into the APC as a turning point in Taraba's political history, pledging to energise the youth and consolidate progressive governance at all levels.

 

"The City Boy Movement stands ready to mobilise the grassroots, energise the youth, and defend progressive governance. The future belongs to those who organise, mobilise, and act—and the APC is the vehicle for that future," the statement read.

 

The movement congratulated the APC leadership and the people of Taraba State over what it described as an unprecedented display of unity and political maturity during the reception of Governor Kefas into the party. According to the group, the massive turnout and widespread support at the event signalled a collective decision by the people to embrace a new political direction.

 

"What Taraba witnessed was not a ceremony, but a declaration of intent—progress over stagnation, unity over division, and hope over hesitation," the statement added.

 

The City Boy Movement also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called his visionary leadership, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has repositioned the APC as a dominant and inclusive political platform. It further acknowledged the role of the party's leadership, led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwada, in strengthening the APC's appeal nationwide.

 

The group expressed optimism that Governor Kefas' defection would usher in a new era for Taraba State, marked by stronger federal collaboration, accelerated development, expanded economic opportunities and people-centred governance.

 

According to the statement, the alignment with the ruling party at the centre positions Taraba as a key stakeholder in national governance and opens the door to greater dividends of democracy for the state.
