Youth Leaders Urge Gashaka Politicians to Contest Key Seats in 2027 Elections


 Youth leaders in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State have urged local stakeholders to contest senatorial and House of Representatives positions in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The call was made during a closed-door meeting between Gashaka stakeholders and the Youth Forum, where representatives of all youth groups spoke with one voice under the leadership of Hon. Sambo Goje.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Goje appealed to stakeholders to create avenues for sustained dialogue between the youth and party leaders. He lauded the patience and good intentions of the APC State Chairman, noting that God had answered prayers by bringing the Executive Governor into the APC fold.

Hon. Danbaba, Sarkin Matasan Gashaka, commended the APC State Chairman for facilitating the employment of over 50 graduates into federal government institutions. He assured stakeholders that with the current unity in Gashaka, the local government would continue to benefit from strategic political positions in the future.

The Chairman of Gashaka Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Yusuf (Allurangari), welcomed the guests and praised the youth for their initiative. Similarly, Haj. Batulu K. Muhammed, Member representing Gashaka at the Taraba State House of Assembly, thanked stakeholders for creating a platform for deliberation on issues affecting the local government. She also expressed appreciation to the APC State Chairman and all party leaders present.

The Honourable Commissioner for Heritage and Tourism, Hon. Titus Nagombe, urged the youth to always speak with one voice and remain united.

In his address, APC State Chairman Mallam Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi Esq. encouraged the youth to maintain cordial relations and assured them that his office remains open for counselling and guidance at all times. He emphasized that Gashaka people are renowned for their patience and peaceful disposition, noting that the local government remains one of the most peaceful in the state with minimal history of unrest or undue pressure for financial assistance.
