Sardauna LG Chairman Presents 2026 Budget Of ₦7.77bn

The Chairman of Sardauna Local Government in Taraba State, Hon Mohammed J. Umar has presented a budget of Seven Billion, Seven Hundred Seventy-two Million, Five Hundred and Forty Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty Three Naira, Thirteen Kobo for the 2026 fiscal year.

The Chairman presented the budget this Tuesday to the Legislative Council at the Council Chamber in Gembu, headquarters of the Local Government Area

The budget is tagged Budget of "Renewed Hope and Transformation,".

Hon. Umar described the proposal as a people-oriented and development-driven financial plan designed to consolidate the achievements recorded by his administration while addressing the pressing needs of communities across the Local Government.

The Chairman disclosed that the total expenditure of the 2026 budget stands at ₦7,772,549,163.13, noting that it was developed through careful planning, wide consultation, and strict compliance with global best practices in public financial management ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective tracking of public funds.

According to him, the budget prioritizes key sectors that directly impact the wellbeing of the people, including healthcare, infrastructure development, education, youth empowerment, and social development, among others.

He stressed that the 2026 budget is not merely a financial document, but a comprehensive development blueprint aimed at deepening grassroots development and strengthening service delivery.

He therefore called on the Councillors to support the Executive by granting prompt and favourable approval to the 2026 Budget of Renewed Hope and Transformation to accelerate development and improve the living standards of the people of Sardauna Local Government Area.

In his remarks, the Leader of the Sardauna Legislative Council, Hon. Abdulkarim Salihu Shum, Councillor representing Kabri Ward, commended the efforts of the Chairman, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructure, achievements recorded during his first term in office.

He assured the Chairman that the Legislative Council remains committed to constructive engagements, robust oversights, and the timely passage of a budget, which aligns with the aspirations of the people and the developmental vision of the administration.
