LG Poll: PDP Chairmanship Candidate Abarshi Musa Rallies Grassroots in Ussa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Ussa Local Government Council, Hon. Abarshi Musa, will on November 5, 2025, hold a major political rally in Rufu Ward ahead of the November 8 council elections.

The rally, tagged "RUFU 2025 POLITICAL RALLY," is expected to be a convergence of key grassroots politicians, party stakeholders, and community leaders of Ussa origin.

According to Hon. Musa, the choice of Rufu as the venue was deliberate, given its historical and cultural significance to the Kuteb Nation.

"Rufu is not just another community; it is the cradle of our people's political and cultural identity. Holding the rally here is a way of honouring our roots and history," Musa said.

He revealed that invitations have been extended to all major political stakeholders in Ussa, including former local government party executives, former ward executives, and former elected councillors since the creation of Ussa Local Government Council.

Musa described these categories of politicians as the backbone of political mobilisation and grassroots participation in the area.

"As a local politician myself, I know the value of grassroots politicians. No politician worth his salt can afford to ignore them," he stated. "We cannot move forward or succeed without their support."

Emphasising the centrality of grassroots politics in Nigeria's democracy, the PDP candidate noted that all elections — from presidential to council levels — are ultimately determined by the people at the polling units.

"Politics is local," Musa declared. "Winning any election — whether for president, senator, House of Representatives, governor, or assembly — depends on what happens at the grassroots. That's where the real power lies."

Hon. Musa further assured the people of Ussa that his administration, if elected, would prioritise peace, unity, and development across all wards of the local government.

"I will work to ensure peace and progress in Ussa Local Government. Our people deserve inclusive governance that reflects their hopes and aspirations," he said.

The Rufu 2025 Political Rally is expected to attract a large turnout of party loyalists, community elders, and youth groups as the PDP intensifies its final mobilization drive ahead of the local government elections.
