Hon A. A. Liman Dumps NNPP, Returns to APC

The Deputy National Secretary of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Hon. Aminu A. Liman, popularly known as Madakin Lau, has resigned from the party and rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a resignation letter dated October 31, 2025, and addressed to the NNPP Ward Chairman of Mayo Gwoi Ward in Jalingo, Liman announced his withdrawal from both the party and his position, effective immediately.

According to him, the decision was taken "in the interest of my people," adding that it was not an easy choice to make.

"I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from my membership of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) and my position as Deputy National Secretary, effective immediately. This decision was not taken lightly, but I believe it is necessary for the benefit of my people," he wrote.

Liman expressed gratitude to the NNPP leadership for the opportunity to serve and the trust placed in him throughout his tenure.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and the entire NNPP family for the support and opportunities given to me during my membership. I appreciate the trust you placed in me and am grateful for the experience and knowledge gained while serving the party," he added.

He further commended the ward and national leadership of the NNPP for their guidance and wished the party continued growth and success.

Hon. Liman, a respected political figure from Lau Local Government Area, was instrumental in the NNPP's mobilization efforts across Taraba State during the 2023 general elections.

His resignation has fueled speculation of ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, with reports suggesting that more key figures within the NNPP in Taraba may be reconsidering their political affiliations.
